Anti-Aging Expert Notes That Not All Hearing Problems Are Related to Ear Wax

Posted by admin 18 September, 2008

Medical Intuitive Caroline Sutherland, whose latest book “The Body Knows How to Stay Young” was recently released by the prestigious publisher Hay House, has found compelling evidence indicating that not all hearing problems are related to ear wax buildup. Recent guidelines from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation offered solutions to the natural yellowish secretion called cerumen.

Cited as a factor in hearing loss when it becomes impacted in the ear canal, cerumen is a water-soluble earwax that is a mixture of dead skin, hair and secretions that usually poses no threat to hearing. Strategies for removal include irrigation or ear syringing, removal by suction or manual removal with a special instrument—all done in a doctor’s office. The use of cotton swabs or the popular method of “ear candling” are not advised by medical professionals.

According to Sutherland, whose background in Environmental Medicine makes her an authority on food and airborne allergies, says that hearing loss can also be compromised from exposures to molds, fungus and allergies to milk. “As an allergy-testing technician, I have seen thousands of patients and know first hand the effects of milk based products on the respiratory tract and ear canal. Any moist, damp part of the body can be a breeding ground for fungus—especially in older people. The ear is a common place for fungus and yeasts to colonize. Using a good oral anti-fungal agent like garlic, caprylic, hydrogen peroxide or grapefruit seed is useful for eradicating this ubiquitous unwelcome guest. Mucous forming milk-based products should be avoided, as well as exposures to the common molds that abound in damp climates. Using a dehumidifier to dry out mucous membranes often gives relief.”

Caroline Sutherland, who has helped over 100,000 people worldwide with her unique brand of healing, emphasizes that the public should be aware of environmental factors and how they affect respiratory health. A strong advocate for the testing of food allergies, she urges the use of dairy-free products, yeast eradication and limited exposures to environmental toxins of all kinds.

Sutherland strongly urges consumers to carefully read labels and be proactive in supporting products that are chemical free and environmentally friendly. For more information go to www.carolinesutherland.com or contact her at 800-575-8165
